Today is April 22, but it’s also “Earth Day.” What is Earth Day? It was a day established on April 22, 1970, that involved social demonstrations designed to raise and promote environmental awareness. Now, I am not opposed to environmental awareness, although there is far more to the political agenda of the Earth Day movement than simply awareness. However, I don’t celebrate Earth Day. Instead, I choose to do something a bit different. You see, I choose to celebrate what I call “Life on Earth Day.”
What is Life on Earth Day?
Well, it begins with the realization that humans have but one existence that we are certain of, and that this existence is here on earth, and it is both finite and fleeting. Indeed, it’s a sobering thought that one day, I am going to die, and that I will have to leave this earthly party. What’s even more sobering is that not only will I have to leave the party, but that the party will continue on just fine without me.
Given the stark finality of this situation, I choose to celebrate every day that I am fortunate to have. Most days, I celebrate by engaging in the productive achievement that is my work as a writer and educator explaining the markets and investing for my newsletter advisory service subscribers. And truth be told, I love this activity more than anything else I do.
Other days, I do something more exotic, or at least, more unusual. I did that this past weekend, as I enjoyed what I consider to be one of the best events on my annual calendar, the weekend of the Long Beach Grand Prix.
Some years ago, I owned a condo that overlooked the racetrack, which is really just the streets of downtown Long Beach, California. I still have many friends who live there, and I go every year, as I love motor sports and especially the open wheel Indy Cars that scream through the city streets at speeds of some 185 mph.
While watching the races over the weekend, I was thinking about all of the equipment, engineering, capital, skill, coordination, bravery and determination involved in competing at the highest levels of this sport. Much like any complicated enterprise, to be successful requires a confluence of people with the right vision, strong backing and even stronger wills to get things done.
The contemplation of what’s required to succeed in this endeavor is quite similar to companies making just about any product or delivering any service. The details might be different, but the effort and components needed to prevail in an always challenging world are much the same. That’s also true of our pursuit here in all of the Jim Woods’ newsletter family.

You see, in order to succeed, we need information and data, the ability to analyze that data, the tools to implement our analysis and, perhaps most importantly, the courage and determination to put our money to work in pursuit of our own “checkered flag,” which is the achievement of more money so that we can live our lives with more freedom.
Indeed, money and freedom are two of my favorite concepts, because they are the tires and fuel that power our personal race cars into victory lane. And in life, victory lane is where you want to be at the end of the race. And getting there along the way in our own versions of high-powered racing machines is definitely part of the fun!
So you see, this is just one of the many ways I choose to celebrate Life on Earth Day, and I do so every day, whether I am sitting at my desk writing or walking through pit lane at the Grand Prix.
The way I see it, the cause for celebration of Life on Earth Day is that I am here, right now. Why would I want to squander any moment of it with unnecessary fear of what’s ahead? What will be, will be. But what is, is right now. And what is also is reason enough to celebrate Life on Earth Day.
So, why not get to celebrating today in whatever manner you choose? Reality has already given you its permission slip in the form of your existence, right here, right now.
Nick Shirley, the World’s #1 Investigative Reporter, to Address FreedomFest!
The man who exposed the billion-dollar Minnesota fraud has just confirmed as a keynote speaker at FreedomFest on July 8 at Caesars Forum Conference Center in Las Vegas.
Shirley’s video of the Minnesota fraud went viral with a record four billion — billion! — views on X; Elon Musk met with him and awarded him $100,000 to continue to expose government fraud in California and other states. His expose forced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz to not seek a third term and “never run for office again.” California legislators have introduced the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” and radical critics have threatened his life that he has had to hire security for personal protection. Shirley thinks California may have more government fraud than Minnesota.
Here’s a recent interview with to definitely check out: Nick Shirley reveals CHILLING escalation in threats amid fraud probe — YouTube.

Begin at Once
“Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life.”
— Seneca
Celebrating Life on Earth Day isn’t something you plan to do once everything is figured out, or once you retire, or once you’ve reached your financial goals. Celebrating life on earth is something you can do, right now, and every day for the rest of your time on this orb. We get but one chance, so don’t blow it. As Seneca says, “Begin at once to live.”
