“Silver could hit $50 again this year… and gold could hit an all-time high of $5,000.” — Forecasts & Strategies Predictions for 2025
I just returned from the Orlando MoneyShow, where everyone was talking about the precious metals boom… gold going over $4,300 and silver over $52 an ounce. They have since retreated from their all-time highs.
Earlier this year, my publisher Eagle sent out a promotion entitled “Gold 5,000” at a time when gold was selling for around $3,000 an ounce. I also forecast that silver would hit $50 an ounce for the third time in its high.
Like many of my predictions, few readers believed it. Now, with gold reaching $4,300 an ounce last week, my “impossible” prediction looks like it could really happen.
In the marketing piece, I identified a whole host of factors causing gold and silver to move higher: stubborn inflation, Trump’s tariffs, the Fed cutting interest rates, geo-political instability (wars in the Middle East and Ukraine), out-of-control deficits and debt financing.
Last but not least, central banks are losing faith in the dollar as the world’s currency. China and other countries are dumping Treasuries in favor of gold.
From 1970 until 2000, stocks have outperformed gold, but in the 21st century, gold has outperformed stocks, as the chart above demonstrates. A series of crises have pushed gold dramatically higher — the “easy money” policies in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the financial crisis of 2008 and the pandemic of 2020.
Gold has turned out to be a better inflation/crisis hedge than bitcoin. It has outperformed bitcoin this year by a substantial margin. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies seem to move more with tech stocks than gold.
Hi, Ho Silver: My Encounter with Bunker Hunt
After hitting $50 an ounce twice, in 1980 and 2011, silver is finally hitting new highs once again.
My favorite story about silver occurred in 1985. I gave a speech in Dallas at the Council for National Policy. About 200 wealthy conservatives were in attendance. In my talk, I talked about 1981, when I urged my subscribers to “sell their gold and silver and buy stocks and bonds.” It was a bold statement, but proved to be accurate.
Afterwards, I was shocked to see Bunker Hunt in the audience. He came up to me and said the following unforgettable words: “I should have followed your advice!”
Unfortunately, the Hunt Brothers were caught in a short squeeze and were forced to liquidate their silver position, and ended up declaring bankruptcy.

Florida Grade School Restores My Faith in America
“America will, with God’s blessing, become a great and happy country.” —Benjamin Franklin (1783)
This week, I appeared as Benjamin Franklin before the Republican Women’s Club in Vero Beach, California. Afterwards, one of the 100-plus members said it was the best speech she had heard in all her years at the Club. As Franklin would say, “It pleaseth my vanity to hear it!” Afterwards, I sold an entire box of Franklin books, “The Greatest American.”

What thrilled me even more was a presentation in front of 50 or more young children at the Vero Classical School in Vero Beach. They giggled with excitement as my wife (who appeared as Franklin’s wife Deborah) and I mingled and tested the knowledge of these 3rd, 4th and 5th graders about Franklin, American history and the founding fathers.
Not only were they smart and enthusiastic, but when I asked if there were any questions, 30 hands went up. Prompted by their teachers, they had written up various questions about Franklin’s life as an inventor, scientist, business leader, legislator and publisher. It was a challenge to answer them!
That’s one reason why I love to teach students. It restores my faith in America and its future.
Franklin had little formal education. He was in large measure self-educated. He once wrote, “From a child I was fond of reading and all the little money that came into my hands was ever laid out in books.”
To succeed in life, it’s vital to constantly educating yourself about the latest news and ideas.
