Walmart Names McMillon as CEO

Walmart Names McMillon as CEO (ABC News)

Walmart announced today that President of Walmart International, Doug McMillon, will be taking over as CEO of Walmart, as of Feb. 1. McMillon’s predecessor, Mike Duke, will remain as chairman and advise McMillon for one year. Although the announcement of McMillon’s appointment was something of a surprise — Mike Duke’s five-year tenure is the shortest of any Walmart CEO — the recruitment of an internal candidate was not. McMillon began working at  Walmart as a summer truck loader 22 years ago.
