Mickey Goes to China (YahooFinance)

Walt Disney Co. announced that it would build its first store in Shanghai, China. That store is expected to be the company’s largest in the world. The planned, 53,000-square-foot retail space is scheduled to open in 2015 and underscores Disney’s need to serve the demands of China’s booming middle class. This date coincides with the grand opening of Disney’s first resort in mainland China, as well. With Disney stores existing in 340 locations around the world, the China initiative still represents a bold new direction for this Mickey Mouse company, and a new opportunity for investors to climb aboard.
